WHAT WE DO

Army Football is a County within the Football Association and is committed to the advancement of football within the Army at all levels. Football is the most widely enjoyed game in the Army and the Army Football Association provides administrative support and promotes the game at all levels.

We are based in Aldershot, the home of Army sports, at Fox Lines by the Aldershot Military Stadium.

There is a full-time staff employed to administer the game worldwide and a Management Committee who formulate policy for Army Football in accordance with Football Association Rules and guidelines.

Football continues to be played competitively throughout the Army. It remains the ‘soldier’s sport’ and is enjoyed by all ranks at various levels of competition throughout the season.

The British Army has not been so heavily committed to operations for many years and the consequences of this for competitive team sport are felt across the sporting arena. It is often difficult for footballers of representative standard to be available for team selection – perhaps this is an increasing trend.

Yet the enthusiasm by players, coaches and officials to continue in this most favoured sport remains exceptionally high. Sports facilities and equipment continue to be widely available and in increasing quality.

The resources required to run football throughout the Army, at all levels, remain available. Army Football is in a healthy state and we seek to improve upon this standing.

Our Mission Statement

Army FA’s vision is to be ‘Ahead of the Game’. As an organisation we champion this in all services and opportunities we provide, supporting Army FA’s Grassroots football.

Our aim as an organisation is to govern, develop, promote and protect grassroots football within The Army.
